Nurikabe

The initial Nurikabe puzzle is a grid with a few numbers on it. The aim of the game is to fill some of the blank squares (fill them solid black) to make “walls” and leave other cells white.

The rules are that each number tells you an area next to it which cannot be “walls”. You have to find which cells are white starting with the numbered square. A number 1 for example, is one white cell and therefore there are four black 'walls' above, below, to the left and to the right. You must not join up groups of white cells with two or more numbers. The other rules are that no group of black cells can form a block of four, and that in the final solution there can be not isolated “walls”.
